Resourced Community
Where Impact Comes to Life
Stories connect us, inspire action, and help us understand our shared mission. Here, we share the voices and experiences of farmers, partners, and innovators driving agricultural transformation. These narratives aren't just updates - they're threads that weave our global community together, showing how individual successes contribute to lasting change. By sharing these stories, we invite you to become part of a growing movement committed to reimagining food systems for an abundant future.
Beyond Digital Connections
At Resourced, our community extends far beyond digital connections. Here are ways we engage with our partners and supporters:
Giving Campaigns
We run targeted initiatives like our annual Grain for Good campaign, where donations help supply Rich Oats to organizations like the YAMNA women's cooperative in Morocco. These campaigns create a direct impact while connecting our global community to the farmers and families we serve.
Partner Projects
We collaborate with aligned initiatives like the Carver Challenge to expand our reach and multiply our impact. These partnerships help us tackle food security and agricultural innovation from multiple angles.
Field Engagement
Our regular community and farm visits connect us directly visits keep us directly connected to the farmers and their communities. These visits aren't just check-ins - they're opportunities to learn, gather feedback, and ensure our work continues meeting real needs.
YAMNA-RCAL Grain Good Campaign: Empowering Women, Transforming Communities
The Story of Rich Oats.
The YAMNA women's cooperative is a partner of a larger initiative called Rich Crops Action Lab (RCAL). This groundbreaking initiative started in 2017 with just oats, then called Rich Oats for Africa (ROA), and has now expanded into RCAL to include more countries and grains. RCAL exists to address severe food insecurity affecting millions of people* across different African countries.
The Rich Crops Action Lab has achieved remarkable results in Morocco, transforming local agriculture and nutrition. Through innovative breeding techniques, we've developed and registered oat varieties that pack a powerful nutritional punch – containing twice the protein and up to three times more iron, zinc, magnesium, and folic acid than common oats. Due to the high percentage of health fats, the Rich Oats are preferred for taste by local communities as well. This breakthrough has had a tangible impact on farming communities, with crop yields in Morocco more than doubling from 0.9 to 2 tons per hectare.
Through your gift in this end-of-year campaign, we are partnering with the YAMNA women's cooperative to distribute 1.8 tons of high-protein oats. This will create approximately 60,000 servings of couscous — enough to produce complete protein nutrition for 12,000 families.
This is more than one-time meal; your gift ripples across communities providing hope, sown and reaped in every grain.
* "The most recent estimates show that nearly 282 million people in Africa (about 20 percent of the population) were undernourished in 2022, an increase of 57 million people since the COVID-19 pandemic began. About 868 million people were moderately or severely food-insecure and more than one-third of them – 342 million people – were severely food-insecure." (Source)
The Carver Challenge - Building Future Food Leaders
The Carver Challenge represents one of our most exciting community initiatives at Resourced - connecting today's students with tomorrow's food challenges. Working alongside educators and agricultural experts, we're building a vibrant network of young innovators across America.
This hands-on program brings our agricultural expertise directly into classrooms. Students use real scientific tools - including our Crop Crate System - to conduct genetic experiments and contribute meaningful data to global crop research. To us, it's not just about learning science; it's about being part of the solution to food security challenges.
The community is growing rapidly, now reaching:
20,000 STEM teachers sharing knowledge and resources
2 million students engaging in real-world agricultural experiments
100 student innovations contributing to global food solutions
This network of young scientists, educators, and agricultural experts represents the future of food innovation - one classroom at a time.
